29 April–1 May: Elijazzen festival – Lofoten Jazz Festival. The only jazz festival in
Lofoten is being arranged for the third time at Eliassen Rorbuer, Hamnøy. The Jazz Festival is a tribute to the wild and wonderful Lofoten countryside, to the culture and the commitment, energy and spontaneous creativity we all get from simply being there. (www.elijazzen.no)

17 May – National Day celebrations in Reine and Sørvågen. Procession starts from
Sørvågen.

28 May : Activities for the whole family, Sørvågen.

2–5 June: Literature festival ”REINE ORD”, Reine. (Norwegian language only)

9 June: The Culture School’s Summer concert, Sørvågen.

11 June: Family Activities and Entertainment, Å. Family activities in Å from 12am to
4 pm. Activity day celebrating the old ”Fish-fetching Day”. Market, guided tours, exhibitions, talks, activities, entertainment, open bakery. This year we combine events with the “Lofotmarsjen - Organised Walk” consisting of three separate distances: Ramberg-Å approx. 33 km, Hamnøy-Å approx. 13 km, Sørvågen-Å approx.. 3 km.

15 June–15 August: Guided Tour of Moskenes Village: Daily 12.30- approx. 13.10
Norwegian and English. Information and stories about the history of village of Moskenes; early settlement, church history, the fisheries, landlord and trading post, industry…. Includes guided tour of the church. Price: NOK 40 for adults, 20 for children. Welcome to a fascinating tour. Rendezvous at the Tourist Information Centre.

24 June: Midsummer Eve Celebrations – bonfires and barbecues, etc.

8 July: Midnight Walk, rendezvous at SOIL building, Sørvågen.

9 July: Homecoming party and quayside dance at restaurant Maren Anna, Sørvågen.

17 July – Vinstad Sunday. Outdoor church service with Johnny van Hal, tenor, accompanied by Vinstad Church Orchestra. Sale of hot dogs, waffles, cakes and drinks, raffle, time enough for a walk to Bunesstrand beach. For further information: see posters.

28 July: 9 p.m. – “OLAVsVESPER,” folk music, church service Moskenes Church.
Vestlofoten Summer Choir: Brita F. Leutert (leader); Jürg Leutert, organ. New arrangement of a folk music Mass by Brita Fach Leutert combined with old St. Olaf’s Day liturgy.
4 August: 9 p. m. – Unique Baroque music with works by Bach and Ulich
Lux Borea: Paul Wåhlberg, recorder and traverse flute; Pavel Serbin, cello; Andreas Edlund, harpsichord.

27 November – Christmas tree lights. Sørvågen and Reine.

3 December 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. - Christmas in the Old Days, Å. Christmas preparations
at the Norwegian Fishing Village Museum, in the traditional fishing village of Å. Bakery,
cod-liver factory, story-telling, Christmas marked.
