Advertising
DataDesign conducts all kinds of advertising tasks including designing adverts for publication in newspapers and magazines and the production of brochures (including the writing of texts where required). We can also offer full profile advertising including a varied media mix. We do not carry out market surveys.
The illustration shows a number of the products from our "Fishing Village Holidays" campaign for the tourist information centre in the boroughs of Flakstad and Moskenes in the Lofoten Islands, Norway. The videofilm was produced by Bjørn Kenneth Hansen for the Norwegian Fishing Village Museum in Å.
The campaign includes a 4-page A4 brochure packed with colour photos, an annual 64-page Tourist Guide, the afore-mentioned video, a complete Internet presentation, and a full-page colour advert which was published in several magazines and was deemed "in a class of its own" by the local press when compared with a similar advert for a neighbouring borough.
DataDesign was also responsible for AS Lofoten Trafikklag's "Lofotbuss" campaign, after which the managing director announced a 40% increase in the number of passengers.
DataDesign also produces one-off adverts as opposed to campaigns.

Desktop Publishing
DataDesign produces all kinds of printed matter on the desktop - from simple black & white economy brochures and newsletters via full-colour brochures and video covers to books and periodicals.

DataDesign has produced a series of 16 textbooks for Poseidon Simulation AS (Ltd) in English and Norwegian, including Student's Workbooks, Teacher's Manual and demo cassette. The books are about the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) and cover the two levels of proficiency in this field - ROC and GOC.
The illustration at right shows the cover of one of the textbooks.
DataDesign was also responsible for the design, layout and production of "A Guide to the History of Lofoten" of which 25,000 copies were published in English, German and Norwegian, and the 270 page colour illustrated hardback scientific publication "Ringed Seals in the North Atlantic which was published by the North Atlantic Marine Mammal Commission, NAMMCO. We have also produced a series of children's books in the Sami language together with a number of other books.
DataDesign also produces newsletters and annual reports for a number of organisations on a regular basis and has done the design and layout for a wide range of pamphlets and brochures in several different languages, including English, Norwegian, Spanish, French, Italian and Finnish.

The first two projects were produced using IBM's Storyboard Live, the series of adverts with Macromedia Director 4.0, and the CD-ROM with QuarkImmedia 1.5.
Translation
We have been engaged in translation work to and from English/Norwegian since 1985. In addition to regular translation work such as books, articles, brochure texts, business letters and technical documents, we have also been engaged in radio and television projects, functioning amongst other things as translator and consultant to Granada TV in conjunction with producer Peter Carr's film "Another Black Sea".
