Our premises were built in about 1914. To begin with the building was a cod-liver oil factory, but later became a cannery. Today it is a restaurant with bright and cosy premises that help emphasize the building's fascinating architecture. The name "Maren Anna" was derived from a sloop that used to be moored at the quayside nearby. Feel free to have a walk around Sørvågen while you are here. There is an illuminated nature trail around the lake, a sea front promenade - and "Norway's smallest beach" is only a few metres from the restaurant! Note the old turbine by the
river outside the restaurant. It was originally located there in 1906 to
provide electricity to the surrounding buildings. There is a lot of history
in the near vicinity and we do our best to convey some of it to our guests
by way of a photo gallery.
You can choose between a
variety of traditional North Norwegian dishes or among new and exciting ones. |
